Our Team

Owned by myself, Jason, and my fiancé and partner for nearly 9 years, Allie. While I work almost every visit, she helps take care of a lot of the smaller things that are needed to make sure every client gets the best experience possible!

Why do we do what we do you might ask? Because we are just like you. We have a house of pets that we love and cherish as much as anyone else in our lives. We make sure that each place we go to gets the exact experience we would want our own pets to have when we are away.

Jason

I have been a pet sitter for over a decade, starting shortly before going to college. Never thought it would become my main focus to make a living, but I couldn’t be happier to have landed on this. I have cared for cats, rodents, reptiles, a couple rabbits, and some birds. I feel confident in almost every pet we offer services for and will always ask exactly what their needs are at the meet and greet.

When not taking care of pets, I find myself working on other side projects. A game designer, writer, and music video creator, I am never short on things I can work on. A true nerd at heart, I love that I have found something that helps me make my other dreams grow alongside my family.

Allie

I have helped take care of pets since I was a young, from my own to others who had pets when I would babysit their kids. Now, I am a full time nanny, taking care of pets daily, and help with the business side of Kitten Critter Sitter. I may start helping with visits as the business grows, but for now, I am behind the scenes.

In my free time I am usually cuddling our pets, playing with the cats and rats, while playing games or catching up on some shows, or just rewatching Supernatural.

Current pets

While being the oldest one we have at 8 years old, Squirrel is still a baby at heart. He is the one that almost never gets into trouble, and cries when we get loud playing games or watching TV and comes demanding pets. He is the most easy going cat but hates change, give him new food once and you will find it hard to get him to eat his normal food again for days.

The runt of his litter, he was protected by his big brother Moose and was trained by Shenron to behave. We also think he is a secret psychopath with how he acts sometimes… but he hasn’t taken over the world yet. Extremely skittish at new sounds and people, he still will be one of the first out to say hi after some time of watching who just entered his domain.

Squirrel

The second oldest at 6 years old, Fox is truly our most chaotic cat. He is extremely cuddly, and wants nothing more than neck scratches. The most clumsy and awkward cat we have had, he lets nothing get in his way from point A to point B, even if it means knocking everything down in his path. Even though he is deaf, he still screams his head off like everyone else is as well.

He was born a fighter. Given a LOW chance of survival as a kitten, he ended up fighting his way past it all when we adopted him. He may need extra attention when he gets sick, including hand feeding and medications, but he never lets it slow him down.

The special deaf one

Fox

At 2 years old, Mulder is still very much a kitten, but one that is way too smart for his own good. From opening doors, to figuring out how to get food from chip reading feeders, he is a menace. He knows tricks, and sparingly uses his meows to get treats.

One day I was out driving for Amazon and saw a piece of trash in a road, until a truck went over it and I saw a paw. It was Mulder, at 3 weeks old having been dropped by a hawk or eagle onto a BUSY road. After chaotically sprinting across the road, hoping traffic would wait for me, he became our 4th cat at the time thanks to the cat distribution system.

The smart one

Mulder

Not even a year old and Bra’tac already runs this house. Beloved by all 3 of the others, he gets to do whatever he wants with little repercussion from them. He can steal their food, take their sleeping spots, and dive on their toys and they do not care. Due to this, and how he arrived sick where we may have doted on him too much, he is spoiled.

Adopted at 3 months old, he was seen as a “aggressive” cat, yet he not only melted in our arms the moment we held him, he has never been angry at anyone except the rescue we got him from. Arriving with worms, he ate for himself and hundreds more until they were cleared, and he apparently never got over that as he eats anything and everything he can while bordering on overweight. He will 100% steal food from your mouth.

Daven, Shay, Achilles, Naoe, Crane, Firenze

At over 2 years old, these boys continue to be the second oldest mischief of rats we’ve had. Daven is the ring leader, always out to make sure he gets food when given. Achilles is the cuddly one, who always asks for pets. Shay is the shy one, always watching but often reserved. Naoe is the baby who all others must protect when he gets scared at noises. Crane is the eager beaver, always near when he hears us get close. Firenze is the one who all others go to for cuddles and sleep time.

Adéwalé, Yasuke, Basim, Tazim, Animus, Shao

The Mix

Almost a year old, all of these boys come from different groups almost. Adewale, Tazim, and Basim are from one litter, Yasuke and Shao are from another, and Animus was on his own. Now they all coexist and play in the same mischief and are some of the friendliest rats we have ever had. Basim and Adewale would much rather be perched on your shoulder, eating a treat and licking your fingers than in free roam and play time. Yasuke and Shao will gallop around your hand and play every second they can. Tazim will bathe you nonstop and Animus will never be far behind.

Our fishies, all in their own living tanks. Kisame got his own 10 gallon after our last king passed and wants nothing more than to dash around pulling plants at will. Ukitake is always watching for food when you pass by. Deidara is our king who has become our oldest and most changing betta we have ever had. 6 months he stayed pink and odd looking at a Petco, and over a year later has transformed into our friendliest and most colorful betta.

In memory

Found abandoned at 9 months old from a family that moved 3 months prior, Shenron was my best friend since the moment we met. He let me carry him 2 miles across busy street without ever complaining or struggling back to my house when I was a teenager. Through the next 13 years he became my rock, and was the cuddliest cat you have ever seen, always nearby when I was home. The nicest cat to anyone, new or familiar, he would let anyone hold him, pet him, and he never once hissed. Animals on the other hand, he despised. He begrudgingly helped raise Moose and Squirrel, coming to love them after a while. Smartest cat we have ever had, including Mulder, he taught those two a lot, much to our dismay and ability to hide things from them. His mark continues to live on in Squirrel to this day.

He passed away at the end of October in 2020 due to congestive heart failure and having a heart too big for his chest. Makes sense if you knew him, he was always too kind and loving for a normal sized heart.

The chill one

Shenron

Bigger in size to his “baby” brother Squirrel, Moose was a big chonky boy, in hunger and in size eventually. Always acting big and brave to the other cats in the house, he was the definition of a scaredy cat the moment someone new entered the house. He would hide for hours, only coming out once he knew they were gone AND food was being offered. This cat, at a healthy 14 pounds, once worked his way up to 20 pounds and never forgave us for working him back down. While he was super sweet, you could just tell with his looks at times that he held a grudge. Often seen as smart as Shenron, he ONLY used his intelligence to get more food, never to do anything else. He is the one who took Mulder under his wing, fully accepting the baby day one, and never far from his side. While he and Fox never got along too well, his soul continues through him Squirrel, and Mulder in everything we see them do.

He passed in January of 2025 due to a cancer he hid for a long time.

Originally, Allie did not want rats, she found them weird. One day, she saw a documentary about them, learned more, and we went out to adopt a few from a local rescue. As long as they weren’t the albinos with the red eyes, she said she was fine, but of course, that’s all we could find. The plan was 2 or 3, but when we got there, all 5 crawled on her, licking her face, and making little squeaks, so of course we got them all. The original creed. Since then, we have rescued some from a hoarding situation, two from a pet store going out of business, and three from someone who could no longer care for them.

The most painful part of having rats though, especially boys, is knowing you have a short time with them as they only live for about 2 years. Which is why we give every group all of the love we can to make their stay with us the best they could possibly have.
